Old and fine Chirvan carpet. Early 20th century. Caucasus. Wool velvet on wool foundations; sky-blue field patterned with diamonds, colored stones, tarantulas, animals, hourglasses, hooks and geometrically stylized insects in polychrome, adorned with three star-shaped medallions with crabs and stylized tarantulas.
