Important French Savonnerie point carpet, circa 1900. Brown field with a very large polychrome wreath of flowers inlaid with a multicolored floral spray. Four spandrels with richly flowered horns of plenty with fantastic animal endings. Triple border, the main one reminiscent of the central field, with flower bouquet cups. Very fine decoration. Knotted point carpet in the 18th century taste. Wool velvet on cotton backing. Good overall condition. 280 x 265 cm.
