Very original and rare silk Meched (Iran) circa 1980/1985. Velvet, silk warp and weft. Prayer-form rug on a ruby-red field with mihrab, decorated with a vase with bouquets of flowers and a central stylized crown surrounded by symmetrical birds and trees of life. Double ruby spandrels with animals and birds. Note the cartouche bands with poetic inscriptions. Main border with decoration reminiscent of the central field. Beautiful polychromy. Good condition. 290 x 190 cm
