Large and fine Tabriz (Northwest Iran) circa 1980/1985. Lambswool velvet, flowers surrounded by silk, on silk foundations. Density approx. 9,000 knots per dm2. Good overall condition. Old rose field decorated with foliage and polychrome flowering palmettes, adorned with a central rose window with a midnight-blue ivory and celadon floral crown. Four spandrels with motifs echoing the central field. Eight borders, the main one midnight-blue with interlacing fine crenellated branches inlaid with floral bulbs. 320 x 200 cm
