Exceptional, important and very fine Isfahan (Iran) circa 1965. High-quality silky lambswool velvet, flowers surrounded by silk on silk foundations. Density of approx. 9,000 knots per dm2. Ruby field with polychrome garlands of flowers and foliage surrounded by fine curvilinear stems, and adorned with a large central old-gold rosette with floral crown. Four ivory and midnight-blue spandrels with floral bulbs. Five borders, the main one midnight-blue, with decoration echoing the central field. Good condition 395 x 240 cm
