KASHGAI bag rug (Persia), first part of the 20th century. A sawtooth border flanked by two ribboned counter borders, framing a field of bayadère stripes with diagonal geometric motifs. Beautifully varied palette. Braided ends with multicolored tassels and handle. Back of the bag woven with polychrome horizontal stripes. Fine Central Asian craftsmanship. Wool velvet on cotton foundation. Good condition. 38 x 27 cm
