Beautiful late 19th century YOMOUD (Central Asian) tribal rug. Oxblood red background, decorated with a semiset of medallions formed by four stylized leaves known as "gülhs Dyrnak". Main border with ethnic geometric motifs, surrounded by six small counter-borders. The carpet is finished with two reserves of stylized, entomology-inspired decoration. Wool velvet on wool foundation. Good condition. 330 x 218 cm
