Silk-encrusted SARYK saddle cloth (Central Asia), early 20th century. A fuchsia field hosts a sowing of pink, ivory, black and brick "Gühls" shields. Six geometrically-decorated counter-borders frame the main one, with polychrome lozenges decorated with cruciform flowers and Kotchaks. Bibliography: -Rugs and carpets of the world ed. by I.
