Original and Fine Silk Ghoum (Iran) Shah period circa 1965 Silk velvet on silk foundation Salmon-pink field prayer rug decorated with a crenellated mihrab featuring a composition of fine drawn friezes forming crowns, cabochons and stylized hearts surrounded by birds taking flight and polychrome flowering palmettes. Beautifully balanced double-column frame. Double spandrels in old gold. Five borders, the main one in midnight blue, with semis of cartouches and stylized weeping willows. Density of approx. 9,000 knots per dm2. Good condition 215 x 138 cm
