YOMOUD ASMALYK (Central Asia) ornamental rug, late 19th century. Two Greek-style brick borders, as well as two ivory borders with small gühls and arrowheads, frame a chestnut field, covered with a semiset of four-color serrated gühls (ak-Su), staggered on a honeycomb lattice. Two-tone braided and matted edges. Chains finished with multicolored tassels. A beautiful and rare nomadic example. Wool and cotton velvet on wool foundation. Good condition. 117 x 73 cm
